if this is a genuine Ipod charger, I do know it works on a 901 passtrhough. If not go for this, I got mine at Maplins as shown here, but they stopped selling them, but I know my local tescos have them in stock (in the same ailse as torches, funny enough and they are bloody brilliant. http://www.maplin.co.uk/DiscontinuedModule.aspx?ModuleNo=340784Tesco ones are more expensive, about a tenner..

Very similar to the one I use and it worked great. I absolutely love my GD passthrough. Used it all the way to From Colorado to Arizona and back--about 1000Miles each way.
The perfect accessory to any vehicle !!!!

Hi Tommb,
I would recommend you get one with an output of 5V and 1500mA, and not the cheapest you can find.
Some 1000mA usb chargers do work but I think the recommendation is at least 1300mAmps.
I got a cheap usb socket off ebay rated at 5V and 1500mAs but it didn't work, so avoid the cheap ones.
My other USB socket rated at 5V and 1500mAmps works fine. It is the one that came with the Kensington power pack (a great addition to the GDPT, allows mobile vaping, a bit expensive but well worth it).

Thanks for the advise! I think i will try and borrow friends ipod charger first and if it works then will get the one from amazon. If not then will prop. go for the kensignton power pack!

I'm not expert in the matter, and someone here will certainly have more info on the USB voltage than me, but it's not 5v as the steady 5v from the plug and powerpacks gives a noticeably better kick on the trusty GDPT.
I think it's around the 4v?

I have one that I one in a competition.. but it's a 901 (though I have an adapater for 801 and 510) so I am seriously considering getting a 510 PT I think PT's are the best of all devices if you are able to plug in to something No reaon to use a portable unless you need to be portable

Yes, 3400MAh would be very nice Problem is its only 700mAh output so probably won't work on a passthrough.

I'm using the USB mains that came with my kengsinton power pack -- It's 5V 1Amp Output and works perfect on the PT.

I have been using my GDPT for a few days and its fantastic . Very well made - feels like it will last a long time. Only problem is my kensington power pack i bought last week - once it gets to 3 lights (60%) it just completley cuts out - and only way to get it working is to charge it again - has anyone else had this problem? thanks, tom

Thanks for the link. I have been prev. doing this but with very limited success - when it cuts out (once at 60% charge left) - i will charge it for 10 seconds then it goes back to same charge as before it cut out but then it only lasts for a couple of minutes then it will cut out again. but when there is 5 bars(100%) or 4 bars(80%) charge it fully works and will not cut out - I think mine maybe faulty. Thanks, tom

I took my first one back(to PC World) for a replacement. The 2nd one was similar but not so bad.TBH, I only needed it to work for 4 hours(playing golf) which it could usually manage and now with 18500 batteries,I only take the GDPT/Kensington as a backup to my Little Gem.(I also have another NiMH powered mobile USB charger which I can use to charge the Kensington "on the hoof") I guess the question is whether 40% of the Kensington's battery capacity is long enough for your requirements.

Hi, 40% is not ideal - but generally only use at night so its not a big issue (when fully charged it will easily last the evening). Sounds like its a fairly common problem with the Kensington Thanks, tom
